The secret of the designer’s success is the fantasy-like themes that he creates with textiles and colours. Dreamy and dramatic at times, and elegant and edgy at others- a veritable study in contrast that makes each of the designs statement pieces. Coupled with a relentless attention to detail, the end-product then is a winner for the designer as also those he drapes.
“…A dress must make, in an instant, a statement without the help of accessories”, says the designer. Signature use of feathers, sequence and prints are some of the artists distinct style characteristics – every creation is arrived at by mixing fantasy with reality.
Shane Peacock launched his prêt label in 2002, a collection for both men and women. The Shane Peacock repertoire is an eclectic mix of fashionable prêt, exquisite bridalwear, racy resort wear, fun fashion for kids and of course the luxurious evening wear. Shane Peacock fashion believes in glamour and intricate embroideries, use of sequins, sheer fabrics and bold prints. The end result is often edgy juxtaposed with all that is feminine and ladylike and elegant.
Playing with contrasts has been the secret recipe then for the designer to produce his masterpieces. The label’s bridalwear showcased at fashion shows have featured clothes using neutral shades in sheer fabrics embellished with intricate golden embroideries or Zari work. Purely gossamer and dreamy in appearance. Here the designer created the traditional lehnga choli designed as a skirt and a jacket blouse and the suit was given a fringy cape. Modern and versatile, this ensemble then can be carried off at different settings and not just remain bridalwear.
And the Shane Peacock magic extends to Resort Wear, where, a 2013 collection consisted of brightly printed bathing suits, kaftans and sheer dresses suitable as holiday wear. The designer had an international high- profile face to show off the showstopper – Paris Hilton. It gives the Falguni and Shane Peacock label a huge visibility and takes the clothesline into a realm of high-fashion, glitzy star studded and ‘Red Carpet’ events. Again, the focus was on bold embossing on sheer fabrics, creating a different texture and feel for the Falguni and Shane Peacock Spring 2015 collection at the New York Fashion week.
The Falguni and Shane Peacock brand is shoring up its retail presence in the important fashion hubs across the globe. Outlets in Dubai, London, Manchester, Miami and Marbella, New York, and more are taking the brand to meteoric heights. Establishing an international lifestyle brand is on the anvil, with the objective of making the Falguni and Shane Peacock brand one of the most sought-after styles to adorn.
