Inspiring Young Minds Through Careers in Arts & Design

JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Vasai x Lighthouse Project

JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Vasai, recently conducted an engaging session on “Careers in Arts and Design” in collaboration with the Lighthouse Project, Vasai. The session aimed to introduce students to the wide range of creative career opportunities available in today’s design industry and help them understand how creativity can be transformed into a successful profession.

The interaction was filled with insightful discussions, fun activities, and practical learning experiences that encouraged students to explore different creative fields such as fashion design, graphic design, interior design, UI/UX, animation, illustration, and digital arts. The mentors from JD Institute guided the students through various aspects of the design industry, including skill development, portfolio building, career growth, and the importance of innovative thinking.

What made the session truly memorable was its interactive nature. Instead of only focusing on theory, students actively participated in creative exercises like poster-making and dress-design activities. These hands-on experiences helped them understand the design process while also boosting their confidence and teamwork skills.

The mentees shared positive feedback about how the session helped them discover new career paths and gain clarity about the creative industry. Many students appreciated learning about niche careers in design and understanding the practical side of the profession, including the opportunities, required skills, and industry exposure.

One mentee shared that the session helped her understand the importance of creativity, communication, and problem-solving in the field of arts and design. Another student mentioned how the activities made learning more enjoyable and helped answer many of their doubts regarding creative careers. Several mentees also expressed excitement about discovering that there are more than 150 career opportunities within the design industry.

The collaboration between JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Vasai, and Lighthouse Project reflects a shared vision of empowering young minds through creative education and experiential learning. Sessions like these not only inspire students to think beyond conventional career options but also encourage them to pursue their passion with confidence and purpose.
