(Left)In the 1920s, French Tennis champion Suzanne Lenglen established herself as the frontrunner in women’s tennis fashion. She started a trend by sporting a calf-length, short-sleeved cotton attire with white stockings under her skirt. She wore a ‘revolutionary’ colourful silk chiffon, a flapper – style headband.The Tennis dress was designed by French designer Jean Patou.
